A couple of wips bite the dust :)

Here are a couple little projects just finished.   The one block Mariner’s Compass is the result of a workshop I attended a few months back.Mariner's Compass wh for Lewis  I decided to kill two birds with one stone and make it into the small wall hanging  my DS asked for to hang up in his abode.  The initials stand for Fort Lewis…

The second little hanging is a small challenge for the end of year exhibition of works of the workshop I got to once a month.  The challenge is either Silver and Gold OR Herring and Whisky.  Silver, gold, herring & whisky challengeIn honour of Scotland’s year of the Homecoming this year.   Anyway, I decided to do the whole lot.  I have used the Tumbler Collection from Inklingo to do the tumbler block background and fish body and appliquéd the head, fin and tail which are slightly stuffed.   I used a bead for the eye and did both stitch in the ditch straight machine quilting and a little free machine quilting for the bubbles and body scales on the fish.   It looks a bit lop sided in the photo but it is in reality square.  Honest :)))
