Rainbow Scrappy Challenge last Saturday in February and for green.

A quick post here to show how far I’ve got with this challenge since last week… which is not very far at all.  However, here it is.  I have managed to get the mug rug to flimsy stage and now decisions are needing to be made about the backing and binding.

Shamrock mug rug wip

Here it is.  Not a very good photo as the colours don’t show too good.  The ‘yellow’ looking sash fabric is actually a lime green and the pale border fabric is more green than blue looking as it is here.   I’m looking to put a darker binding on and something on the back… could be pieced or not. ;)

If you’d like to see what everyone else has done for the last Saturday of this challenge take a look here.

Now I wonder what the colour will be for March :)))

Have a great weekend!!

NEW WORD VERIFICATION SYSTEM plus bunny picture

How is everyone getting along with the new system?  Personally, I find it very difficult and when visiting blogs and wishing to leave a comment I frequently have to have two tries at the word.   Very frustrating.
So I have decided to disable it for comments on my blog and instead set comments to be moderated before being posted.   What do you think about it?
I have been to the Google Help Forum and posted a comment there about the new system as have several other people.
Okay, can't leave this post without a picture can I, LOL... so here's one of my little Lionhead bunny Princess Penelope.  This was taken out in the garden last summer.  Her 'mane' had been 'trimmed' for the summer but is usually very long and fluffy... must get a current picture of her for you...

Have a good day!

Rainbow Scrappy 2012 update

I have loooads of green scraps left and I think I could make a large quilt from them but not just yet ;)

However, this past week… okay Friday night and yesterday…. I completed another Building House in green and started a green mug rug.

Here is the beginnings of my mug rug…. can you guess what they are supposed to be?    I made  designed a pattern in EQ7 so I’ll share the pattern for anyone who’d like it… when I’m done ;)

Two Green Shamrock blocks

And here is my green house number 1.  I’m hoping to make a second in green and have picked out fabrics already for it.  I only have one red so at some point I’ll make a second red… we’ll see ;)

This coming week I hope to finish the February small quilt by Kathleen Tracy .   It is not far off, I have the borders to add and so on..

Today, though, I must get myself disciplined into sewing up a Dear Jane block…..

Happy Stitching!

Rainbow Scrappy Report

This month's colour for the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge is green.  Now although green is not my favourite colour I seem to have quite a few scraps in green.

I finally caught up with the Disappearing 4 Patch blocks that I'm making for this challenge.  So far I've made 4 each of Red and Green blocks.  Here they are:

I still have loads of green scraps though.   I'm going to make a couple of little house blocks in green but that will hardly tickle the scraps so I'm going to have to think up something else to do with them.   Preferably something that can use up smaller pieces.   I would like a green mug rug for March so maybe I can work on one.   Anyone any ideas??

If you'd like to see what everyone else is doing with their green scraps then pop on over to Soscrappy's blog post  here.

Happy Stitching!

HAPPY MAIL

Don’t you just love getting a happy mail package through in the post?  Well I’ve been very lucky these past couple of weeks :-D

My dear friend and Buddette  Rosa, who lives in Canada, encouraged me and a few others to join in with Michelle of  The Raspberry Rabbits 2012 BOM named after her two beautiful rabbits “Harrington and Hannah”

Being a ‘bunny mum’ to 4bunnies plus bunny abuela to one other(DDs little Mila) how could I resist!

Anyhow, as a ‘carrot’ dangler Rosa sent me and a few other Buddettes a package of Canadian wool felt to make the first block.  Here is a picture of it with the card that came with it.

Wool pieces from RosaTHANK YOU SO MUCH DEAR ROSA!      I’ve yet to decide on my background.

Next my dear friend and Buddette Cyn,who lives in sunny California, sent me the cutest crochet heart and friendship card, she is so thoughtful that she also sent a crochet heart for my DD (the all pink one below).

Aren’t they beautiful!  THANK YOU SO MUCH DEAR CYN!!

I also received a girlfriend Valentine’s Card from my dear friend Donna in Iowa. (Who also happens to be my very first e-pal of at least 13 years!)   It is beautiful but also funny.  Why can’t we buy these type of cards for our girlfriends here in the UK?   The wording is glittery though that doesn’t show in the photo below.

Now, as if I haven’t already received lots of goodies I also won a sponsored give away held last month by Ali of Very Berry Handmade and I won this beautiful bundle of fat quarters of Amy Butler’s New Lark collection from UK quilt shop Fabric with Love.   Aren’t they just GORGEOUS!!  Thank You Ali for organizing the give away I never dreamed I’d win, and Thank You Lorraine of Fabric with Love for the gorgeous fabric!  I LOVE THEM!!

I’m hoping to have something to post tomorrow for Rainbow Scrappy Saturday.  So I’d better go sew! LOL..

Mourning Crosses QOM and some views of northern Scotland

Firsty, here is my finish of Kathleen Tracy’s QOM for January.

Mourning Crosses Red Made for my daughter’s male ball jointed doll Rayven.  Here’s a small picture of him.  I also made the crochet scarf he’s wearing.

Now for something completely different…. some pictures I’ve taken of northern Scotland where I live.
