My Rabbit Patch project
Here's how my Rabbit Patch project is progressing. I've managed to hand quilt two blocks. Not my favourite part of quilting but it is coming along and a necessary addition to help hold up the heavy 3D appliqué. It is sagging without it. So far I've done the middle flowerpot and the blue bells. Not fancy but functional is how I would describe my quilting. It's 'hurry up spring is coming quilting'.

Very nice! Did you design it too? I'm about to start a Christmas one in a similar look/style and it's all applique I believe. It's A Christmas Story by Hatched and Patched. Will do my BOW before I start it though!
ReplyDeleteYour rabbit patch is so cute. Just in time for spring, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Marja and Jeanne,
ReplyDeleteThank you for 'dropping by' and you're lovely comments.
The Rabbit Patch is a design in the Little book of Little Quilts by Katharine Guerrier. I think it's out of print but you may be able to find a second hand one somewhere.
I've done 2 other quilts from her book. This one is on the front cover. I just loved it. It took a while but I finally got around to making it. It has 3D applique on it as well as regular. Just got to quilt it now to stop it pouffing out under the weight of the 3D.
Elly, I love your quilt very much and I do understand the problems with the 3D patchwork.
ReplyDeleteI think that this is such a fun quilt, so cute.
ReplyDeletethank you all for your lovely comments on this quilt. Hugs Ellyx
