Give away Medallion Top

This is a medallion top that I made as part of a teaching demo. It needs finishing but I'm not sure if I want to finish it so I thought I'd gift it to someone who'd appreciate it and do something good with. It is about 40 inch square at the moment.

If you like it, please post a comment on this post telling me your thoughts for the quilt and I'll choose someone to send it to.

Final date is 29th April when I'll pick a winner. :-D

  1. oh my it is so clean and cheerful looking....hmmmmmmm...i would make an applique border with vines and make the flowers out of hexagons and then i would hand quilt it and hang it in our cottage by the lake that we are going to retire to...in the near future

  2. Oh what a wonderful piece. I have the perfect place for this to go. I can use it with some UFO blocks using the same fabric.

  3. Those 30's repro fabric is hard to come by here in Norway. Any repro fabric actually :( For a short few months they hit the stores here, but then they were gone again. I have some in my stash that I'm going to use for my DearJane quilt #2 but I would love to search for more fabric and put my hands on your top. You might even like it so much that you'll want it back:) Who knows? Good luck with your decision.

  4. I think this would make a perfect baby quilt with just the addition of prarie points on the edge for the baby to play with. If I were to be the lucky winner I would fininsh it and then donate to Project Linus. Thanks for the chance. (sbonetsue at yahoo dot com)

  5. Elly, what can I say...it's just beautiful! I would love to give this top a good home...perhaps add a few more borders with my own repro prints?! Would make a great quilt to wrap yourself up in on a spring day in the garden! Along with a good cuppa tea, of course!
Enjoy your day! Hugs from Mary Ann in Denmark

  7. Hello, Elly
Your charming piece would make a cheerful lap quilt for my 95-yr-old Grammeo. She spends weekends in her own wee house in Park Hills, Missouri, USA, and the other days with her daughter in nearby Desloge, Missouri. I know you would love her, too!
