After being so inspired by all the other ladies taking part in the Rainbow Scrappy Challenge over on Angela’s blog Soscrappy I picked out my orange scraps and finally got down to making my orange D4Ps.
So here they are followed by a picture of them all so far up on my design wall.
I pulled out all my autumn wall hangings… well most of them… and over the next few weeks I’ll post pictures of them. Here is the first one. It is mostly orange so I thought it fits in with September’s Orange colour theme.
Thankfully, I remembered to add a label to this one or I would have forgotten the exact details. It is a pattern by Sandy Gervais and was featured in the McCalls Quilting magazine of October 2005. The fabrics used are mostly from Moda’s Sweet Potato range though a few pieces are from my stash. It is square at the corners it just looks wonky with my photography.
I had a day out on Thursday with DD and my friend Lyn. We went to John O’Groats for the afternoon and had lunch followed by a yummy ice cream. On our way home I stopped at the beach at Dunnet and DD and myself took some pictures. It had been a very sunny day but by this time it was clouding over and getting a tad cold.
Here are a few pictures that I took. Of course my camera isn’t as fancy as DDs.
Now if you’d like to go see what the other ladies have done for this week’s Rainbow Scrappy Saturday. Then hop over to Angela’s blog here.
I’m off to do a bit more reverse appliqué on my Dear Jane block
Have a great weekend,
Ellyx
