Happy Scrappy Saturday everyone! Here are some pictures of a little blue scrap basket which I finished during the week:
It is from the e-book “Sunday Morning Quilts: 16 Modern Scrap Projects” By Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison. The instructions to make this little fabric basket are very clear, however, I really need to learn how to read them 
I omitted to top stitch around the top before putting in the cardboard support for the sides. Never mind, the next one will go better I’m sure. It finishes at 5.5inches high and 7.5inches square. It doesn’t seem so big but it holds all of my blue scraps which came out of another box. I also have a jar full of skinny strips. I need to prettify the lid. I've also managed to make a scissor holder as part of Across the Pond Sew Along for this month. The back is denim recycled from a pair of jeans and the little red check pockey is recycled from a cotton shirt. I'm not so sure about the fabric for the big blue heart which is a hand dyed. I'm not sure I like it :-/ but then it's covered up with scissors and stuff so hopefully I won't notice it too much. I wish I'd picked a lighter floral like the one in the smaller pocket at the base of that heart. Anyway, it's mainly blue ;) The design is by Wendy of Handmade Harbour and you can find the pattern and tutorial her blog here. :

How clever to make a blue scrap container out of your blue scraps! I absolutely love it! You have done well on using up scraps if you can get them all to fit in there. I fear I would need a bigger container.

I see you have been busy. The blue box looks handy and seems the perfect size for your fabric scraps. As for the scissor holder - I LOVE IT. It is so handy with all it's pockets. And I think the blue fabrics work well. I love that you upcycled fabric - you eco-diva you.
